I had a shoot for Vida today. I can’t exactly go sharing the pictures I took for the shoot itself unless I want to unleash the wrath of the publication, however I managed to shoot a couple of frames while waiting for the team to arrive.

The shoot was in Mdina, Malta’s former capital city and host to one of our magnificent cathedrals. I tried to get in to the church but there were three men guarding the door and not allowing anyone in. Suddenly hundreds of priests flooded into the square and filled the church up. A few minutes after the main influx, this old priest walked up to the church standing up proudly, he stopped bang in the centre of the square, shielded his eyes and looked up, observing the cathedral in all its glory. Once he was satisfied he walked slowly, but surely into the church. I got about five frames of him when he was close enough (I wasn’t carrying my telephoto lens).

Note: I bought Photomatix today – this is the first picture I processed with it. I shot it in RAW, then ‘developed’ three separate JPGs in Digital Photo Pro (one over-exposed, one under-exposed and one at the camera’s suggested exposure). I tried to keep it looking as natural as possible, so hopefully the HDR effect is not overwhelming.
